The Glock® 47 is a full-sized pistol chambered in 9mm Luger that offers all the latest features of the Glock®17 MOS, including a full-length 4.49" barrel and slide sitting on the full-size frame of the Glock®19X and 45. "So what's the benefit here," you ask, "Why not just get a G17 MOS?" Think of the Glock®47 as a top-of-the-line G17 with a "super-power" that Glock® fans have wanted for a long time. The G47 enables you to have a pistol with a full-length slide on a compact G19 frame. The G47 slide uses the shorter G19 guide rod / recoil spring assembly and fits G19-size frame rails, so you can swap your G47 slide onto your G19's frame. The resulting "long-slide" G19 gives you the better ballistics and accuracy benefits of a longer barrel and longer sight radius, while the more compact frame makes the Glock®47 a much more daily carry friendly pistol. It's a godsend for folks who want to carry a full-size 9mm pistol, but really hate that full-size grip frame digging into their anatomy all day and making it more difficult to prevent the gun from "printing" through clothing.
