Single-shot

Because of their simple design, relatively small number of moving parts and one-shell capacity, single-shot shotguns are an excellent choice for new or young shooters. They are also, in general, the most affordable type of shotgun. While they can fine for hunting if safety is the biggest concern, their extremely limited capacity makes single-shot shoguns a questionable solution for home defense.
